How to get there
From Johannesburg, take the R24 to the airport; from Pretoria, take the R21. The airport is clearly signposted from these approach roads.
The high-speed Gautrain (tel: (0800) 428 87426; www.gautrain.co.za) runs between Johannesburg O.R. Tambo International Airport, Malboro and Sandton. The travel time to Malboro is 10 minutes and Sandton 15 minutes, while fares to both start at R115.
Magic Bus (tel: (011) 548 0822) operates scheduled bus services to Sun City and other places of interest: it has an office on the ground floor of the domestic car park building.
Official taxis operate from in front of the multi-storey car park building. The journey time to central Johannesburg is upwards of 30 minutes (depending on traffic conditions) and the fare is around R500.
There are several car parks offering short- and long-term parking, including an underground facility as well as outdoor and covered areas. A free 24-hour shuttle bus service operates between the furthest away car parks and the terminals. Further information is available from the ACSA office (tel: (011) 921 6090/1), which is open 24 hours a day. Valet parking, operated by Executive Carports (tel: (011) 390 2062; www.executivecarport.co.za) is also available.
