How to get there
The Airport Expressway links Beijing Capital International Airport with the city centre. From the centre, take the ring road to the expressway and follow it in a northeasterly direction to the airport site.
The Beijing Subway’s Airport Express (www.ebeijing.gov.cn) runs from Terminals 2 and 3 directly to the city centre (journey time: approximately 20 minutes; fare: ¥25).
Buses to the Shunyi District depart from outside Terminals 2 and 3. Fares start at ¥4.
The airport shuttle bus departs from outside the arrivals areas of the terminals and takes various routes into the city, including stops at some major hotels. The most popular route is to Xidan in central
Beijing, a short walk from the Forbidden City. The journey time to central Beijing is around 45 minutes and the fare is ¥16.
Metered taxis (tel: (010) 6454 1100) are available at the officially designated taxi ranks. The journey time to the city centre is between 45 and 60 minutes (depending on traffic conditions) and fares start at around ¥150. Passengers are advised to have the destination address either written in Chinese or marked clearly on a map.
Extensive parking facilities (tel: (010) 6454 0814) are offered on six levels in a multi-storey car park. It is equipped with electronic guide screens to assist with locating a space, but it is generally recommended that spaces are reserved in advance, as it can often be very busy.
